Dr. Julie Lorber is a highly regarded, board-certified, colon and rectal surgeon, providing exceptional care for a full range of conditions including patients needing minimally invasive colon surgery, colonoscopy & polyp removal, treatment of fecal incontinence, treatment of ulcerative colitis and hemorrhoids. She offers compassionate, patient-focused care and listens to patient’s concerns while nurturing long-lasting relationships to support their long-term health.

Dr. Lorber has been a colon and rectal specialist in private practice since 2007. Dr. Lorber is fellowship-trained and board-certified in colon, rectal and general surgery. She communicates well with referring colleagues and patients, explaining their conditions and treatment options, and returning their calls personally.

Dr. Lorber earned her BA, graduating cum laude, from Cornell University. She continued her education in medicine to earn her Medical Doctorate in her home state, from the Medical College of Ohio. Following this, she completed her internship, residency, and was a chief resident at Boston University. She continued her training, completing her fellowship at Orlando Regional Medical Center/MD Anderson Cancer Center.

She maintains privileges at Overlook Medical Center, RWJ Barnabas Medical Center, and Morristown Medical Center. She fulfills her clinical duties, along with teaching medical students, surgical resident doctors, and fellows. She stays current in her knowledge through her membership in the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

Dr. Lorber has been named a NJ Top Doc and has received multiple Patients’ Choice Awards.
